Seared Tuna Fish with Beetroot Sauce

Here’s a delightful recipe for seared tuna with a homemade beetroot sauce that will bring a burst of color and flavor to your plate:


Seared Tuna Fish with Beetroot Sauce, Balsamic Teardrops & Red Cabbage Garniture


Ingredients:

  • Tuna steaks (sushi-grade recommended)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Olive oil, for searing


Directions:

  1. Season the tuna steaks with salt and pepper.

  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over high heat until very hot.

  3. Sear the tuna for about 1-2 minutes on each side (for medium-rare), or to your desired level of doneness.

  4. Remove from heat and let rest.

  5. Plate second


Beetroot Sauce


Ingredients:

  • 2 medium-sized beetroots

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 garlic clove, minced.

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon honey

  • Salt and pepper, to taste


Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).

  2. Wash, peel, and chop the beetroots into small cubes.

  3. Place the beetroot cubes on a baking tray, drizzle with olive oil, and toss to coat evenly.

  4. Roast for 30-40 minutes or until tender and slightly caramelized.


Let the beetroots cool slightly, then blend them with garlic, lemon juice, honey, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy. Adjust the seasoning to taste. Plate first
